On the vineyard side, there are the picturesque Alsatian villages of Ammerschwihr, Katzenthal and Kaysersberg Vignoble.

The upper part of the valley, on the mountain side, is full of farms, inns and hamlets where Vosges cows graze in the mountain villages of Fréland, Labaroche, Hachimette, Lapoutroie, Orbey and Le Bonhomme.
